This schedule has a child spend two days with one parent, two days with the other parent, and three days with the first parent, then it switches the following week. The parents alternate who gets the child on the weekend. One benefit of this schedule is that both parents get equal weekend time.
To create this schedule, parents must create six Repeating Event Series, three for Parent A and three for Parent B, with each event set to repeat every other week.
Each parent will need two separate two-day events and one three-day event.
Follow the steps below to create the 2-2-3 Schedule using the mobile app:
- From the Calendar section of your account, select the three dots icon in the top right-hand corner of the screen and select Add event
- Enter the "Title" (ex: Parent A)
- Select the "Category Color" (This step is optional but useful for customizing events on the calendar. Please note: your co-parent will not be able to see the colors you have chosen for your events)
- Select a "Start Date" (ex: First day of Parent A's two-day Event Series)
- Select an "End Date" (ex: Last day of Parent A's two-day Event Series)
- Select a "Start Time" and an "End Time"
- Select "Repeat" and enter how often this event occurs (for this schedule, select "Weekly")
- From the drop-down under "Repeats every," select "Week" and then choose the two days you'd like it to repeat on (In the below example, the event is set to repeat every Sunday and Thursday)
- Select the days of the week on which the event should repeat (for this schedule, select the first day of the event. In the below example, "Sunday" is selected)
- Under "End repeat," select "Never"(or you can enter a date that the event stops repeating by clicking "On date" and entering a specific date)
- Click "Done"
- Under "Notes," enter any notes regarding the event (optional)
- Click "Save"
In the example below, Parent A's first two-day event repeats every other Sunday and Monday, followed by Parent B's every other Tuesday and Wednesday. This is followed by Parent A's three-day event that repeats every other Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. The next week is switched, with Parent B's second two-day event repeating every other Sunday and Monday, Parent A's second two-day event every other Tuesday and Wednesday, and Parent B's three-day event every other Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
